First: I believe Maslov covered this (albeit not quite as entertainingly) with his " Hierarchy of Needs,."

Second: @ Jeremy stated: "Explains why purpose motivated wacko’s fly planes into tall buildings."
I would beg to differ. The "rewards" hugely outweigh any purpose-driven motives.

Instead of living insignificant, meaningless lives in perpetual poverty, being dictated to by some Moon-worshiping, desert wandering, uneducated, murderous pedophile 'prophet', they are able to break free and receive great accolades dying as hero-martyrs forcing compliance to their perverted believes via threats and terror and slaughtering innocents and those that take a different approach regarding the sanctity of life and individual freedoms. Plus, who really could say "No" to 72 virgins at your beck and call serving grapes, fruits, water and other goodies not found in a desert environment.

Then he states: "Also points out that the political leaders of all nations should be paid ten times that of CEO’s of any of the worlds big companies. So how can we embrace this."

Seriously? So our public servants (aka career politicians) all die in poverty? Here's how to embrace it. Take the responsibility of "We the People . . ." to heart and serve proudly for them - and take great satisfaction in that task and responsibility instead of compromising morals and values that ultimately lead to being motivated by self-interests and potential future payoffs.

This is absolutely spot on. I have noticed the customer service from profit-motivated companies is appalling. I have also left the job market to work for myself. Yes, the money may well be better but definitely my sense of purpose is much greater. At my last job there was little or no sense of purpose resulting in pointless office politics.
