One of the founders of Facebook, Chris Hughes, who left Facebook to help campaign for the presidency of Barrack Obama has now moved
onto a new venture. He is creating a charity site called JUMO which will help charities use the internet for networking and reaching more donations.

I am putting together this lawsuit document of best practices so you can easily follow along to be on the safe side! It’s never a bad idea to protect your assets! However, this lawyer is expensive and slow. I can get him to be faster but that just equals more expensive and a little faster. So this document will be up in probably 10-15 days.

Oscars Over the Internet

With the feud between cable vision and ABC/Disney nearly 3.1 million people had trouble watching the Oscars. While these companies struggle to provide reliable source of TV the internet continues to make strides forward into providing TV/Movies streaming over the internet. Below is a list of a few of the places I found you could have watched the Oscars live on the internet!

(Note I did not name all the places that carried the Oscars Live for free nor did I check all these resources to verify they actually wound up carrying the Oscars. Yes, I will admit it I don’t watch the Oscars myself :P)

Google Maps V.S. Bing Maps

Bing has seen a small decrese in it’s numbers of search shares while Google has recently seen a spike. However, Bing shows no signs of slowing down in their progress on developing a solid search engine. Just recently they have released the largest update to their maps to date. While using Bing I noticed I had an easier time locating my house than when I used Google Maps however their over all quality in my area was a bit worse. Here are the comparisons for my house.

Google Expands

Just recently Google has acquired two new online business. Picnik and Doc Verse. Both are awesome little services and you can check them out at the links below.

Picnik – This service allows you to edit your photos right form your web browser.

DocVerse – Real time sharing and group editing of Word, Excel and Power Point files.

YouTube News

YouTube has changed the default size for embedded videos. By default they’re getting bigger at either 480×385 for a 4:3 video, or 640×385 for a 16:9 video. YouTube says it went with these sizes, because they will give most viewers the best viewing experience because they better match current video encoding sizes.

Also as promised here are the secret photos of YouTube’s new UI they are testing in random people’s accounts. Also, notice how there aren’t multiple stars anymore…It’s sheerly Like or Don’t Like.

WIERD! Look at that share picture of YouTube’s new UI. I am really surprised they have not already included Google Buzz into the new UI’s share feature!?

Also on top of that my team and I set up a green screen studio with lighting, HD Camera and the whole bit.  I will be launching a video series in roughly 9 days.  I will be producing 3 videos per week and placing here on my blog.  Mondays video will cover SEO and Internet Marketing Tactics where I will go in depth training you.  Wednesdays show will just be a short blurb about whats on my mind, changes in the industry, tips and short advice.  Fridays show will be a very light hearted fun show that will cover the latest SEO News and Internet Marketing News.  I have been wanting to put out this kind of quality content for awhile but haven’t had time or the equipment.

Anyway to the good stuff!  Here’s a bit of information I just learned the other day and wanted to share it with you!

Google recently had two excellent write ups about optimizing your mobile site for SEO. One blog post is about helping Google to index your mobile site located at  [http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/11/running-desktop-and-mobile-versions-of.html].

The iPhone and Android devices provide a rich browsing experience while using the smart phone. There are also many mobile phones with web browsers that do not provide this rich user/browsing experience. Webmasters wanting to optimize their sites for smart phone devices can submit mobile content to Google, using a format known as mobile sitemap. You may want to have a single URL for the same website irrespective of whether it is being accessed from a desktop, mobile browser or an iPhone. Google explains in the blog post that you could use the user agent string “googlebot” and “googlebot-mobile” to display a different stylesheet for the same content in different layouts for desktop and mobile devices. This would not be considered ‘search engine cloaking’, as clarified by Google.

The best practices in the area of mobile site SEO are not clear to very many webmasters. These blog posts would probably help put them on the right track for building web presence on the mobile front.

Usually non-technical website maintenance people are the ones who use Google webmaster tools to keep a tab on their sites.  People wound up obsessing over their PR and often times with any dip in PR they would panic and contact Google.

Now that Google has removed the display of PageRank value in Google Webmaster Tools, this kind of scenario is far less likely to happen.

Some years ago Google reportedly had plans of removing PageRank information from the Google toolbar also, but this never happened due to the widespread use of google toolbar as a tool for determining page rank of websites.

This move by Google may have the effect of reducing the number of people trying to manipulate their rankings by buying and selling links on high PR pages and websites. Google seems to be subtly telling that the scoring algorithm that is called Pagerank is something that should not be worried about by webmasters, and that they should rather concentrate on the business of providing landing-worthy content.

So my advice to people is stop fretting about every little bump in the road or every itty bitty backlink.  I always just try to produce quality content.  If you build worthwhile material alot of the other elements will fall into line.  So focus on content and then just keep a slow steady build up of backlinks and other web 2.0 properties, but never fret if you hit a snag these are often times temporary and are nothing to worry about!

First off let me just say sorry I haven’t been very active on my blog lately.  Officially this site isn’t even up as of yet!

I am still doing a bit of work behind the scenes to add to this site before I take it live…
I have designed some really cool twitter tools that this site is going to host for free so you guys and gals can
just come and visit the site and have free access to these tools!

I am not going to tell you all about these tools here, you will just have to wait and see what they are!  ;)
I will give you a small teaser though and let you in on one of them.  I developed a twitter feature that shortens your lengthy tweets.  This thing truly works wonders.  You can type just about anything you want and it will find the most clever ways to shorten all the text!  Just one example was when I tweeted the name Amanda.  The software noticed I was over on characters and it shortened her name down to Am&a.  -Pretty clever eh?  Well this tool and many others will all be finished soon and I am building this for you guys for free!

Also this week was a very busy week as I started in on development on a new software I have designed and will be selling next month.  It’s nothing nearly as fancy as Traffic-Bug, but this simple yet powerful software will really help you increase conversions on your website.  It has some unique little things that I haven’t seen all together EVER!  Though finishing my design and function of this new software was a great accomplishment for me this week it wasn’t the highlight of the week.
As nearly 1,000 of you know who joined me “Live” for my webinar interview of Tim & Anthony Buchalka it turned out to be a fantastic success and a lot of fun!  I haven’t ever hosted a live webinar with these sort of caliber guests before.  Tim and Anthony Buchalka are known as the “Marketing Assassin’s”  and are really top knotch internet marketers.

The event turned out to be a really jam packed with customer questions, information and even an Earth Quake!  During the middle of the presentation Anthony Buchalka had a power interruption as a small tremor shook his house in Australia.  Some internet marketers claim their courses are electrifying but I guess my event was ground shattering!  hahaha.  (Yeah I know I am cheesy)

It was a really fantastic event to be a part of as even two guests walked away with prizes.  One lucky guest walked away with a life time Traffic-Bug membership while the other one got a Free course from Tim & Anthony.

Ok, so the weekend was a very busy one!  I actually didn’t get a whole let of rest!

We are secretly working on an amazing offer to all Traffic-Bug subscribers here which we will be giving away for free!  This is going to be something very special!

Also, we started in on advanced testing of Traffic-Bug’s submission and found some room for improvement.  This change we are making to the submission process will effect the social bookmarking aspect the most and will be Traffic-Bug’s largest change to date.

I will leave you with a few pic’s from my day off I took on Sunday.   Saturday evening a family of three racoons found a dog of bag food we had left out and helped them selves to some treats!  They were far to cute to chase off so we sat and watched them eat for awhile.  Then on Sunday we loaded into the car and took my parents down to Crater Lake in Oregon.  The lake is one of the bluest lakes in the world and is the Deepest Lake in the United States.
