    I would suggest that you embed youtube videos without related videos so not to drive traffic away.

    Hey There,

    The worst thing you can do is ping content.
    Take my 2 cents advice: first submit your
    RSS and then ping-not from your blog- the
    submited RSS.
    It is better if the crowlers reach your content
    indirectly.

    I’d leave pingomatic off that list, and any other site that pings more than one place. You don’t want the services to get mad at you for hitting them over and over with ping requests for the same site.

    Awesome tip – I had this all set up on a previous blog put had neglected to get it set up on my current new blog – great piece of advice – and a super little known trick for getting those new posts indexed quickly.

    Just watched the Buzz video as well…. will be paying a little more attention now after watching that..

    Hey Micheal,

    Nice idea. Might want to throw in to use a Ping Optimizer and don’t feel bad if you get a 200 code if you used shared hosting. Chances are some dummy is spamming these ping sites.

    Great for everyday posts but for the big ones it’s much better for the spiders to find you through the social/bookmarking sites, preferably 2 levels away. To do this first twitter your post then bookmark it , then ping the bookmark.

    Awesome! Does this get your site indexed with google if it is a brand new domain never scanned before? What is the difference between this a pingback? I see in post options allow pingbacks and I’m not sure what that is.
